The Department of Chemistry was started in the year 2004. The Department has good facilities in the Post Graduate & Research laboratories. The faculties are highly qualified and experienced who mentor the students in M.Sc and Ph.D courses..

Academics

The Department concentrates on various areas of Chemistry including organic, inorganic, physical, environmental, electrochemical and nanotechnology. The faculties take part in the training activities which keeps them abreast with the current advancements in the chemical science. The students are guided for the UG, PG and Ph.D level programs.

Facilities

We have four well furnished Laboratories which can accommodate 60 students comfortably. It includes Work place, work tables, Reagent tables, reagent shelves. An exclusive storeroom is available to store all the chemicals.

Research Focus

The Department is committed to undertake fundamental and applied research to produce value added natural products (diabetes/anticancer principles), to provide analytical services to pharmaceutical industries, to standardize herbal medicines, to isolate and identify bioactive molecules and structure elucidation.
